We provide hearing, speech and language screenings on request to many private schools in the Orlando area. The purpose of a screening is to identify children who may have difficulty with hearing, speech, language, voice or fluency that could negatively impact their academic performance or social interactions. A combination of standardized tests and informal observations are used. Screenings do NOT diagnose speech/language disorders, but they DO identify children who may need further diagnostic assessment. Findings from screenings are reported in a brief checklist format. Parents whose child did not pass part of a screening are asked to call for further information given in a phone conference.
Screenings in our office are scheduled when apprioriate as well. Parents are given verbal results at this screening visit.
